Rheinfelden. With two Christmas campaigns, Evonik's Rheinfelden site and its employees are showing their solidarity with people going through a difficult phase in their lives. In addition to a donation of €1,500 each from the company to the women's shelter in Lörrach and the food bank in Rheinfelden, the workforce also showed their generosity with donations in kind.
Evonik employees filled 42 shoeboxes with gifts for the women and children currently living in the women's shelters in Lörrach and Waldshut-Tiengen, paying great attention to detail. These gifts brought smiles to everyone's faces at the internal Christmas parties held at both shelters. “Your support and solidarity mean a lot to the women and children, but also to us,” explained Katrin Kromer from the women's shelter in Waldshut. “Thank you for this wonderful campaign, which brings moments of happiness to people and gives them new hope in a difficult situation,” said Christina Pemberger from the women's shelter in Lörrach.
In addition, the Evonik workforce collected food and hygiene items over a period of several weeks. At the end of this beloved tradition, site manager Jörg Falkenberg and works council member Sabrina Wagner presented the happy food bank manager Silke Witthüser with around 20 boxes filled to the brim. “Thanks to the donations, we can offer our customers a wider range of goods, especially during the Christmas season, and bring them great joy during the holidays,” said Witthüser.
“I would like to thank all my colleagues who have supported people in our region with their donations,” concluded site manager Falkenberg. “I am very pleased about this, as it shows that even in difficult times, people are not only thinking of themselves, but also of their fellow citizens who are facing the holidays in challenging life situations.”
